This Privacy Policy explains how Testify, LLC collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use Testify.
Testify is currently an evolving platform. This Privacy Policy applies to the features that are available through the Service. If we introduce features that materially change how we process personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any additional notices or obtain permissions required by applicable law.
Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
Testify, LLC (“Testify,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Testify, a Christian social platform designed to enable people to share and discover testimonies and participate in Christian communities.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information relating to identifiable individuals and the choices and rights available to them.
It applies to the Testify mobile application, website, support activities, and related services that link to this Privacy Policy, together referred to as the “Service.”
Testify, LLC is responsible for personal information for the purposes for which we determine how and why it is processed, including operating user accounts, providing platform functionality, securing the Service, moderating content, and managing Testify features.

Communities on Testify may be created or operated by churches, ministries, groups, individuals, or other organizations. Depending on how a Community is operated, its administrator or organization may separately be responsible for information it receives and uses for its own purposes.
Joining a Community does not give its administrator unrestricted access to your Testify account, Circle content, or other information that is not made available to that Community through the Service.
This Privacy Policy applies to features currently made available through Testify. Features that may be contemplated for the future—including events, payments, video calls, church-management functionality, advanced analytics, or artificial-intelligence functionality—are not covered as active features merely because Testify may plan to develop them.
Before introducing functionality that materially changes how personal information is processed, we will update this Privacy Policy where appropriate.
Information You Provide
Account and Profile Information
When you create or maintain a Testify account, we may process information such as:
Your name or display name
Username
Email address
Password, authentication credentials, or authentication tokens
Profile photograph
Biography
Age or date-of-birth information used to determine age eligibility
Account preferences
Other profile information you choose to provide
You can leave optional profile fields blank.
Testify is intended only for users who are 16 years of age or older, as explained further in Section 19.
Testimonies and Other Content
Testify allows users to create and share testimonies.
Depending on the functionality you use, we may process:
Written testimonies
Audio testimonies
Photographs or other media you choose to upload
Captions
Comments
Reposts
Reactions, including clapping
Tags or other information associated with content
The Community or audience to which content is posted
Submission and publication times
Edits
Publication status
Technical metadata associated with uploaded content
If you submit an audio testimony, we process the audio recording in order to store and make it available through the Service according to the audience you select.
Communities
Users may join, participate in, or create Communities.
We may process information relating to:
Communities you join
Communities you create
Community membership
Community roles or permissions
Content you post to a Community
Invitations or membership requests
Community interactions
Administrative or moderation actions
Participation in a Community may reveal information about your interests or affiliations. For example, joining a Community associated with a particular church may reveal an association with that church.
Circles
Testify includes a Circle feature that allows users to maintain a selected group of people for more limited sharing.
We may process:
Who you add to your Circle
Who removes or adds Circle members where applicable
Content shared with a Circle
Interactions with Circle content
Information necessary to enforce the audience selected for Circle content
Circle membership does not automatically make other areas of your account private.
Users can report content or accounts through Testify.
When you submit a report, we may process:
The content or account being reported
The reason for the report
Information you provide about the issue
Information necessary to investigate the report
Actions taken in response to the report
Related moderation or appeal information
Users can also block other users.
When you block someone, we process information necessary to maintain and enforce that block and restrict interactions between the relevant accounts.
If you contact us for support, privacy, or safety purposes, we process your communication and the information reasonably necessary to respond.
Please do not send identity documents or highly sensitive attachments unless we specifically explain why they are necessary and provide an appropriate way to submit them.
Information Collected Through Your Use of Testify
Our systems and approved service providers may process technical information necessary to operate, protect, and improve Testify.
This may include:
IP address
Browser or device type
Operating system
App version
Device language
Session information
Authentication events
Security logs
Error and crash information
Performance information
Push notification tokens
Dates and times of activity
An IP address may provide an approximate city or region. This is different from collecting your device's precise GPS location.
Usage and Engagement Information
We may process information about how you interact with Testify, including:
Content you view
Testimonies you open or listen to
Content you clap for
Comments
Reposts
Shares
Accounts you follow
Your followers
Communities you join
Searches
Features or screens you use
Interaction timestamps
Content and accounts you report
Other engagement with the Service
We may use this information to operate Testify and personalize the content you see.
For example, Testify may consider the types of testimonies and content you interact with when determining what content to recommend, while also showing other content to support discovery beyond your existing interests.
Because Testify is a Christian platform, certain interactions may reveal or suggest religious interests or beliefs. We treat information according to its nature and applicable legal requirements rather than assuming that all usage information is nonsensitive.
Developer confirmation required before publication: Testify must confirm the specific analytics, crash-reporting, hosting, authentication, notification, and other software development kits or providers deployed in the production version and ensure that this Privacy Policy and applicable app-store privacy disclosures accurately reflect the information those technologies collect.
Device Permissions
Certain Testify functionality may require access to features on your device.
Camera and Photo Library
If you choose to upload a photograph or other supported media, Testify may request access to your camera or photo library.
Where supported by your device, you may be able to provide access only to selected photographs.
Microphone
If you choose to create an audio testimony, Testify may request access to your microphone.
Microphone access is used to provide the audio-recording functionality you request.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Testify may use a device push token and information necessary to deliver notifications about activity relevant to your account.
Notification previews may appear on your device's lock screen depending on your device settings. Someone with physical access to your device may therefore be able to see notification information.
You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.
Location
Testify does not require continuous background location tracking as part of the current MVP.
If a future feature requests precise device location, Testify will provide an appropriate explanation and request the required device permission before collecting it.
Contacts
Testify does not require access to your address book merely to follow another user or participate in the Service.
If a contacts-based discovery or invitation feature is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and the relevant in-app notices will be updated as appropriate before that functionality is used.
Revoking a device permission prevents future access through that permission but does not automatically delete content you previously uploaded to Testify.
Sensitive Information and Information About Other People
Testify is a Christian platform. Using the Service, following Christian content, participating in a church Community, or posting a testimony may reveal information about religious beliefs or affiliations.
Testimonies may also contain information about:
Health or medical experiences
Disability
Mental health
Family circumstances
Racial or ethnic origin
Immigration circumstances
Financial circumstances
Relationships
Reproductive or sexual information
Other sensitive personal experiences
Some categories of information receive additional protection under applicable privacy laws.
You decide what testimony information you choose to submit. You should carefully consider what personal or sensitive information you want to share and with whom.
Where applicable law requires specific consent or another legal condition for processing sensitive information, we will apply the relevant requirement.
Using Testify does not constitute blanket permission for us to use sensitive testimony information for unrelated purposes.
Information About Other People
Your testimony may mention another person.
You should respect the privacy of other people and should not share private or sensitive information about someone else where you do not have an appropriate reason or permission to do so.
If someone posts information about you on Testify and you would like us to review it, you can report the content through the Service or contact:
You do not need to have a Testify account to contact us about personal information concerning you.
We may ask for information reasonably necessary to identify the relevant content and evaluate the request.
Who Can See Content and Activity
Testify allows content to be shared in different areas of the Service.
The audience associated with a post or feature determines who can access it through Testify.
Feed
A testimony posted to the general Testify feed may be visible to other Testify users according to the visibility settings provided for that feature.
Users should review the audience displayed before publishing content.
Communities
A testimony posted to a Community is made available according to that Community's access and membership settings.
Where a Community is restricted to members, content posted specifically to that Community is intended for users authorized to access that Community.
Community administrators may have additional moderation permissions necessary to operate the Community.
Membership of a Community does not give its administrators access to your Circle content or other restricted information outside the permissions of that Community.
Circle
Content shared to a Circle is intended for the users included in the relevant Circle according to the rules displayed in the Service.
Adding someone to your Circle does not automatically make all previous Circle content visible unless the Service expressly indicates that historical content will become available.
Profiles and Social Activity
Depending on the applicable settings and features, other users may be able to see information such as:
Your username
Profile image
Biography
Followers
Accounts you follow
Publicly available testimonies
Comments
Reposts
Clapping or other visible engagement
Community participation where displayed
Blocking
When you block another user, Testify restricts interactions between your account and the blocked account according to the functionality implemented in the Service.
A blocked user may be prevented from accessing or interacting with your profile or content through their blocked account.
Blocking does not guarantee that someone cannot encounter information that you have made available elsewhere, including through another account, another user's repost or share, or outside Testify.
Screenshots and Redisclosure
Other users may copy, screenshot, record, download, or redisclose information they are able to view despite Testify's rules.
We cannot guarantee confidentiality after information has been disclosed to another person.
Users should therefore consider the intended audience carefully before sharing sensitive information.
Authorized Testify personnel and contracted providers may access content where reasonably necessary to provide the Service, investigate reports, respond to support requests, enforce our Terms or Community Guidelines, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations.
We do not claim that Circle, Community, or other restricted content is end-to-end encrypted unless a particular feature expressly states that it is.
How We Use Information
We use personal information where relevant and permitted by applicable law to:
Create and maintain Testify accounts
Authenticate users
Maintain account and profile settings
Provide Testify's feed
Store, display, and deliver testimonies
Support written and audio testimonies
Operate Communities
Operate Circles
Enable follows and followers
Enable clapping, reposts, comments, and sharing
Deliver notifications
Provide search and discovery functionality
Personalize feeds and recommendations
Recommend testimonies, Communities, or accounts that may be relevant
Help users discover content beyond their existing engagement patterns
Process blocks
Receive and investigate reports of content and accounts
Moderate content and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines
Prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security threats
Respond to support, safety, and privacy requests
Diagnose errors
Maintain and improve app performance
Understand how Testify features are used
Maintain records necessary for security, legal, or compliance purposes
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
Comply with applicable law
We do not treat these purposes as interchangeable.
In particular, sensitive information contained in testimonies or Community participation is not permission for unrelated commercial profiling.
How and With Whom We Disclose Information
Other Users and Your Selected Audience
We disclose information and content to other users as necessary to provide the features you choose.
For example, posting a testimony to a Community makes the testimony available to the audience authorized to access that Community.
Community Administrators
Community administrators may receive information necessary to operate and moderate their Communities, such as:
Community membership information
Content submitted to the Community
Information necessary for moderation
Community roles
Relevant activity within the Community
Community administrators do not receive general access to a member's Circle content or unrelated account information simply because the user belongs to their Community.
Contracted Service Providers
We may use contracted providers to help operate Testify.
Depending on the technologies actually deployed, providers may support functions such as:
Infrastructure hosting
Data storage
Media storage and delivery
Authentication
Email
Push notifications
Security
Diagnostics
Crash reporting
Customer support
Content moderation
Providers may receive information reasonably necessary to perform their contracted role.
We require providers to handle information in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.
Before publication, Testify must confirm and document the providers actually used in production and the information provided to each provider.
At Your Direction
We may disclose information where you specifically direct or authorize us to do so.
Permission for one disclosure does not authorize unrelated disclosures.
Legal, Safety, and Rights
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary and legally permitted or required to:
Respond to valid legal process
Comply with applicable law
Investigate misuse
Protect the safety of users or others
Protect Testify's rights or property
Detect or prevent fraud or security threats
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
Where appropriate, we assess requests and seek to disclose only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Business Transactions
Information may be disclosed to professional advisers or parties involved in a potential or actual financing, merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction where appropriate and lawful.
Such a transaction does not automatically authorize a new use of sensitive testimony information.
Personalization, Discovery and Recommendations
Testify may personalize the feed and discovery experience using information about how you interact with the Service.
Signals may include:
Testimonies you view or listen to
Content you clap for
Content you comment on
Content you repost
Accounts you follow
Communities you participate in
Searches
Other engagement with Testify
These signals may be used to determine which testimonies, Communities, or accounts may be relevant to you.
Testify may also introduce content outside your established interests or engagement patterns to enable broader discovery and reduce excessive repetition of the same types of content.
Personalization does not change the underlying audience restrictions of content. Content that you are not authorized to access should not become available merely because a recommendation system determines it may be relevant to you.
We do not use sensitive testimony information for unrelated advertising profiles under this Privacy Policy.
Cookies, Analytics, Advertising and Marketing
Essential technologies may be used to support:
Authentication
Account security
Session continuity
Service functionality
Saving preferences
Fraud prevention
Testify may also use proportionate analytics and diagnostic technologies to understand app performance and how features are used.
Where applicable law requires permission for nonessential analytics or similar technologies, we will provide the required choice.
The specific production analytics, diagnostics, cookie, and SDK inventory must be confirmed with Testify's development team before publication and reflected in Testify's App Store and other applicable privacy disclosures.
Sale and Targeted Advertising
Under Testify's current privacy model:
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use or disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising based on sensitive testimony, religious-belief, or Community information.
Testify does not disclose testimony content, religious information, or restricted Community or Circle activity to advertising platforms for the purpose of building individualized advertising audiences based on those sensitive characteristics.
If Testify's advertising practices materially change in the future, this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy controls will be updated before such processing begins where required.

You may receive necessary communications relating to:

Changes to Testify
Legal matters
If Testify sends optional promotional emails, you may unsubscribe using the method provided in those communications.
Push notifications can be managed through Testify or your device settings where available.
Artificial Intelligence
Testify's current MVP does not rely on a user-facing generative artificial-intelligence feature as part of the core testimony, Community, Circle, reporting, or blocking experience.
Testify does not authorize a third-party AI provider to use identifiable testimony content, Circle content, or related sensitive personal information to train general-purpose AI models under this Privacy Policy.
If Testify introduces AI functionality that processes user personal information in the future, we will evaluate the feature and provide appropriate disclosures before the processing begins.
Those disclosures may identify:

Whether human review occurs
Applicable safeguards
Where consent or another permission is required by law or platform rules, it will be obtained before the relevant processing.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable law.

Whether content remains published
Whether you delete content
Whether you request account deletion

Moderation and abuse-prevention needs

Account and Profile Information
Account and profile information is generally maintained while your account is active.
Following an account-deletion request, information is removed or de-identified according to Testify's deletion process, subject to lawful retention exceptions and reasonable technical backup periods.
User-Generated Content
Testimonies and associated media are generally retained while the content remains available through Testify or until you delete the content or your account, subject to lawful exceptions.
Reports, Blocks and Safety Records
We may retain information relating to reports, blocks, moderation, fraud, security, and abuse prevention for a reasonable period where necessary to protect users, enforce our policies, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
Technical and Diagnostic Information
Technical, diagnostic, and security information is retained for a period reasonably necessary for troubleshooting, security, performance, and legal purposes.
Backups
Deleted information may remain temporarily in backup systems before being removed through normal backup lifecycle processes.
If information must be retained because of a legal obligation, legal claim, fraud investigation, safety issue, or similar lawful reason, access and use will be limited to the relevant purpose where appropriate.
Deleting Your Account and Content
Testify provides an in-app method for initiating account deletion.
You can request account deletion by going to:

Testify will display a confirmation step before the deletion request is completed to help prevent accidental account deletion.

Uninstalling Testify
Temporarily deactivating an account, if that functionality is available
When you delete your account, Testify will delete or de-identify the personal information associated with your account from active systems, including user-generated content associated with the account, subject to limited information that we are legally permitted or required to retain.
Deletion may include associated uploaded media and applicable records under Testify's control.
Certain information may remain temporarily in backups until it is removed through Testify's normal backup lifecycle.
We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for:
Legal compliance
Fraud prevention
Security
Abuse prevention
Resolving disputes
Enforcing our agreements
Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims
Information that another user has independently copied, screenshotted, downloaded, quoted, or shared outside Testify may remain outside our control.
Where individual-content deletion is available, you may delete particular content without deleting your entire account.
Before publication, Testify should provide a public web-based account-deletion page or URL if required for the platforms or distribution channels through which Testify is offered.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information based on the nature of the information and the Service.
These measures may include appropriate controls relating to:

No online service, mobile application, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and device.

Testify is not a medical-record service merely because a testimony discusses a health experience.
We do not represent that all health-related information posted to Testify is governed by HIPAA or that Testify is HIPAA-certified.
International Processing
Testify, LLC is a United States company.
Depending on the infrastructure and service providers used to operate Testify, personal information may be processed in the United States or other countries.
The privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will use an appropriate legal mechanism.
This may include contractual protections or other mechanisms recognized by applicable privacy law.
Before publication, Testify should confirm the locations of its production hosting, backups, support access, and material service providers.

Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply, you may have rights concerning your personal information.

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies, California residents may have rights including access, correction, deletion, and information about applicable collection and disclosure practices.
Testify's current privacy model does not involve selling personal information or sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not offer a financial incentive in exchange for personal information under this Privacy Policy.
Maryland and Other States
Where Maryland or another applicable state privacy law provides additional rights, including rights relating to sensitive information, opt-out mechanisms, appeals, or data minimization, Testify will comply with those requirements to the extent they apply to our processing.
Religious information and certain health information voluntarily included in a testimony may qualify as sensitive information under applicable laws.
We do not treat the voluntary publication of a testimony as blanket permission to use sensitive information for unrelated purposes.
Additional Information for the EEA and United Kingdom
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“EU GDPR”) or UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) applies, Testify processes personal information using an applicable lawful basis.

A testimony shared with a restricted Circle or Community is not treated as having been made public merely because it was submitted through Testify.

Age Eligibility and Young Users
Testify is intended for people who are 16 years of age or older.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use Testify.
If we learn that a person under 16 has created an account or provided personal information through Testify contrary to our age requirements, we will take appropriate steps to restrict or delete the account and associated personal information, subject to limited lawful retention requirements.
If you are 16 or older but have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you should use Testify in accordance with applicable law and with the involvement or permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.
Parents or legal guardians who believe that a person under 16 has created a Testify account may contact:
An adult user should exercise particular care before including identifying or sensitive information about a child in a testimony or other content.
Information about a child remains personal information and may be subject to additional legal protections even when it is posted by an adult.
Testify may use age information supplied during registration or another age-assurance method appropriate to the Service to enforce its minimum-age requirement.
Testify's minimum account age is separate from any age rating assigned to the application by an app store.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Testify's practices, features, technologies, or legal obligations change.
When we update the policy, we will update the Last Updated date at the beginning of the document.
Where appropriate or legally required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
If a new use of personal information requires consent or another permission under applicable law, continued use of Testify will not substitute for obtaining that permission.
